Stat. tit. 2, § 2-1-3","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purposes of the Oklahoma Agricultural Code, unless the\n\ncontext indicates otherwise:\n\n1. \"Authorized agent\" means a person who has been authorized by\n\nthe State Board of Agriculture to act on behalf of the Board in\n\nmaking investigations, inspections, performing other services, or\n\ndoing any particular act or acts which have been vested by the\n\nOklahoma Agricultural Code in the Board. A written or printed\n\ncommission signed by the President of the Board shall be proof that\n\nthe holder has lawful authority to act on behalf of the Board in\n\nimplementing the Oklahoma Agricultural Code;\n\n2. \"Beef\" means the flesh of a bovine animal;\n\n3. \"Beef product\" means the edible products produced in whole\n\nor in part from beef, excluding milk and milk products;\n\n4. \"Board\" means the State Board of Agriculture;\n\n5. \"Code\" means the Oklahoma Agricultural Code;\n\n6. \"Department\" means the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture,\n\nFood, and Forestry and its employees, officers, and divisions.\n\nWhenever the name \"Department of Agriculture\" appears in any law,\n\ncontract or other document, it shall be deemed to refer to the\n\nOklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry;\n\n7. \"Director\" means the Director of a division established in\n\nthe Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry;\n\n8. \"License\" means a written document issued by the Board\n\ngranting authority to a person to engage in a business, occupation,\n\nor activity;\n\n9. \"Livestock\" or \"animals\" means any cattle, bison, horses,\n\nsheep, goats, asses, mules, swine, domesticated rabbits, and\n\nchickens, turkeys, and other domesticated fowl, and any animal or\n\nbird in captivity;\n\n10. \"Official identification\" means any official method of\n\nidentification approved by USDA, as described by 9 C.F.R. § 86.1, or\n\nthe State Veterinarian. Official identification for specific\n\nspecies may be further defined within the applicable section of the\n\nOklahoma Administrative Code. Backtags shall not be considered\n\nofficial identification unless the animal is shipped directly to\n\nslaughter. The term \"official ear tag\" is synonymous with \"official\n\nidentification\";\n\n11. \"Permit\" means a written document issued by the Board\n\ngiving consent for a person to engage in an activity;\n\n12. \"Person\" means the state, any municipality, political\n\nsubdivision, institution, individual, public or private corporation,\n\npartnership, association, firm, company, public trust, joint-stock\n\ncompany, trust, estate, state or federal agency, other governmental\n\nentity, or any other legal entity or an agent, employee,\n\nrepresentative, assignee or successor thereof;\n\n13. \"Pork\" means the flesh of a porcine animal;\n\n14. \"Pork products\" means a product or byproduct produced in\n\nwhole or in part from pork;\n\n15. \"President\" means the President of the State Board of\n\nAgriculture. The President of the State Board of Agriculture shall\n\nalso be designated as the Commissioner of Agriculture;\n\n16. \"Producer\" means any person planting, raising, growing, or\n\nharvesting agricultural products;\n\n17. \"Quarantine\" means a written document issued by the Board\n\nto restrict the movement of animals, birds, plants, or agricultural\n\ncommodities into or out of a specified area for the control or\n\nprevention of diseases or pests; and\n\n18. \"Stop sale order\" or \"stop use order\" means a written or\n\nprinted order signed by the President or authorized agent of the\n\nBoard, prohibiting the sale, offering for sale, exposure for sale,\n\nor use of any agricultural product, article, device, service, or\n\ncommodity covered by the Oklahoma Agricultural Code.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"364eb1aa420c57ea54446ea4e50bf7dd31ed0c32297ef83149eb6c6d4ff2db83","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-1-2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-10-10.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
