Stat. tit. 2, § 2-16-32","heading":"Liability for costs of suppressing fires","body":"Whoever willfully or carelessly shall cause an unlawful forest,\n\ngrass, crops, or woods fire shall, in addition to all other\n\npenalties provided by law, be liable for payment of all reasonable\n\ncosts and expenses incurred in suppressing the fire. The costs and\n\nexpenses shall be payable to the Forestry Division or other\n\ngovernmental units, who shall, in the case of cooperating persons,\n\ndisburse the funds in proportionate share based on standard\n\nsuppression costs. When the costs and expenses are not paid within\n\nninety (90) days after written notice of demand, it shall be the\n\nduty of the district attorney having jurisdiction to take proper\n\nlegal proceedings for collection.
