Except as provided by this section, a timber owner who fails\n\nto ensure that the requirements of subsection A of Section 16-61 of\n\nthis title have been fulfilled and who negligently authorizes or\n\ndirects a logging or timber harvesting operation upon the lands of\n\nanother, and cuts down, injures, removes, or destroys any timber\n\nwithout the permission of the owner is guilty, upon conviction, of a\n\nmisdemeanor, punishable by the imposition of a fine of not more than\n\nOne Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), by imprisonment in the county jail\n\nfor not more than thirty (30) days, or by both.\n\nB.
