The Board of the Oklahoma Beef Council shall consist of nine\n\n(9) members and shall be composed as follows:\n\n1. The Governor shall appoint three members as follows:\n\na. one member representing a general farm organization\n\nwhich represents more than 150,000 members in the\n\nstate,\n\nb. one member representing the dairy producers in the\n\nstate, and\n\nc. one member of an Oklahoma association representing\n\nlivestock auction markets and livestock dealers in\n\nwhich the member’s primary responsibility is the\n\ncollection and remittance of assessment funds;\n\n2. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall appoint three\n\nmembers as follows:\n\na. one member from a women’s auxiliary group of a general\n\nfarm organization representing more than 150,000\n\nmembers in the state,\n\nb. one member of a statewide women’s beef cattle\n\nassociation, incorporated in Oklahoma, whose primary\n\npurpose is beef product promotion and education, and\n\nc. one member representing a general farm organization\n\nwhich represents more than 100,000 members in the\n\nstate;\n\n3. The Speaker of the House of Representatives shall appoint\n\nthree members as follows:\n\na. one member of an Oklahoma association representing\n\nlivestock auction markets and livestock dealers,\n\nb. one member of a statewide beef cattle producer-owned\n\nassociation, incorporated in Oklahoma, comprised of\n\nmore than 5,000 Oklahoma-based producer members\n\norganization representing cattle producers in the\n\nstate, and\n\nc. one member from an women’s auxiliary group of a\n\ngeneral farm organization representing more than\n\n100,000 members in the state;\n\nB. The initial appointments for each gubernatorial and\n\nlegislative member shall be for progressive terms of one (1) through\n\nthree (3) years; subsequent appointments shall be for three-year\n\nterms. Members shall continue to serve until their successors are\n\nappointed. Any vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as the\n\noriginal appointments.
