Stat. tit. 2, § 2-2-30","heading":"Provision of mediation services - Plan to increase public","body":"awareness of Agriculture Mediation Program.\n\nA. The Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation Program under the\n\ndirection of the Agriculture Mediation Board as established by\n\nsubsection D of this section, is authorized to provide mediation\n\nservices to all individuals, businesses, and state and federal\n\nagencies that are engaged in production agriculture, and\n\nagriculturally- or environmentally-related activities. The Oklahoma\n\nAgriculture Mediation Program shall operate in accord with the\n\nAgriculture Credit Act of 1987, as amended, 7 CFR 785, and\n\napplicable state and federal laws.\n\nB. The Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation Program shall be formed\n\nas an independent entity. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture,\n\nFood, and Forestry shall provide office space for the Oklahoma\n\nAgriculture Mediation Program. The Oklahoma Department of\n\nAgriculture, Food, and Forestry, in cooperation with appropriate\n\nentities such as the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, is\n\nauthorized to develop and implement a plan to increase public\n\nawareness of the Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation Program. The plan\n\nshall be designed to provide information about the program to\n\nproducers, agriculture lenders, and others which may have reason to\n\nutilize the services. The plan may include but not be limited to\n\nthe following:\n\n1. Providing informational literature to every county extension\n\noffice in the state;\n\n2. Providing information about the program to agricultural\n\nlenders in this state by any feasible means, including but not\n\nlimited to electronic media;\n\n3. Securing such public service announcements from broadcast\n\nmedia as is feasible;\n\n4. Cooperating with and providing information to court\n\nofficials; and\n\n5. Such other measures as may be calculated to develop a\n\ngreater awareness of the existence and benefits of the Oklahoma\n\nAgriculture Mediation Program.\n\nC. The program is primarily funded by a grant from the United\n\nStates Department of Agriculture and may provide mediation free of\n\ncharge to the participants. The State Department of Agriculture,\n\nFood, and Forestry, pursuant to the grant recertification provisions\n\nat 7 CFR 785 and this section, may provide contributions or\n\nallocations in support of the Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation\n\nProgram, as available. The program may seek supporting\n\ncontributions from other stakeholders in support of its operations.\n\nD. The Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation Program shall establish\n\nand maintain an Agriculture Mediation Board whose members are\n\nengaged in or serving agriculture. The Board shall be comprised of\n\na five-person Executive Committee and a fifteen-member Advisory\n\nCommittee. The five-person Executive Committee shall be comprised\n\nof one designee each from the two largest general farm organizations\n\nof this state, one designee from the largest farm commodity group of\n\nthis state, one designee appointed by the Chair of the Senate\n\nAgriculture and Rural Development Committee, and one designee\n\nappointed by the Chair of the House of Representatives Agriculture\n\nand Rural Development Committee. The Advisory Committee shall only\n\nbe advisory in capacity and comprised of members drawn from the\n\nfollowing categories and appointed by the Executive Committee:\n\n1. Each of the United States Department of Agriculture\n\nagencies;\n\n2. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry;\n\n3. The Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension,\n\nincluding IFMAPS;\n\n4. The Oklahoma Conservation Commission;\n\n5. An Oklahoma attorney;\n\n6. Two Oklahoma farmers or ranchers;\n\n7. A representative from an agriculture banking institution;\n\n8. A representative from the Oklahoma Conference of Churches;\n\n9. A mediator from the federal, state or private sector; and\n\n10. Such other members from public entities or private\n\norganizations as may be needed.\n\nE. The Agriculture Mediation Board shall adopt such procedures\nAn Oklahoma attorney;\n\n6. Two Oklahoma farmers or ranchers;\n\n7. A representative from an agriculture banking institution;\n\n8. A representative from the Oklahoma Conference of Churches;\n\n9. A mediator from the federal, state or private sector; and\n\n10. Such other members from public entities or private\n\norganizations as may be needed.\n\nE. The Agriculture Mediation Board shall adopt such procedures\n\nas may be necessary for the management of the program.\n\nF. The program will maintain a roster of qualified mediators to\n\nassist in servicing requests for mediation.\n\nG.
