Stat. tit. 2, § 2-3-50.3","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Boll Weevil Eradication Act:\n\n1. \"Board of directors\" means the board of directors of the\n\nOklahoma Boll Weevil Eradication Organization elected pursuant to\n\nthe provisions of the Boll Weevil Eradication Act;\n\n2. \"Boll weevil\" means the insect Anthonomus grandis Boheman,\n\nin any stage of development, including the egg, larval, pupal and\n\nadult stages;\n\n3. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of the Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry or designee;\n\n4. \"Cotton\" means a cotton plant or any part of it including\n\nbolls, stalk, flowers, root, or leaves or cotton products such as\n\nseed cotton, cottonseed, and hulls;\n\n5. \"Eligible cotton grower\" means any person actively engaged\n\nin the production of cotton either currently or in any two (2) of\n\nthe three (3) years immediately preceding the calling of an election\n\nor a referendum;\n\n6. \"Department\" means the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture,\n\nFood, and Forestry;\n\n7. “Eradicated area” means an area free of boll weevil;\n\n8. \"Host\" means any plant or plant product in which the boll\n\nweevil is capable of completing any portion of its life cycle;\n\n9. \"Infested\" means the presence of the boll weevil in any life\n\nstage or the existence of circumstances that make it reasonable to\n\nbelieve that the boll weevil is present;\n\n10. \"Organization\" means the Oklahoma Boll Weevil Eradication\n\nOrganization established pursuant to the provisions of the Boll\n\nWeevil Eradication Act;\n\n11. \"Regulated article\" means any article carrying or capable\n\nof carrying the boll weevil, including but not limited to cotton\n\nplants, seed cotton, gin trash, other hosts, or cotton harvesting\n\nequipment; and\n\n12. “Quarantined area” means any area or part of the state\n\ndesignated as quarantined by the State Board of Agriculture at the\n\nrequest of the Oklahoma Boll Weevil Eradication Organization.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ebdf78e3fc98f9f7e9eb14452cebff0a1d7ea9a1bb2d4d099a75527530fdb532","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-3-50.21","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-3-50.30"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
