The purposes of the Oklahoma State University Veterinary\n\nMedicine Authority Act are to provide for an effective and efficient\n\nadministration, to ensure a dependable source of funding, and to\n\neffectuate the mission and purposes of the Oklahoma State University\n\nVeterinary Medicine Authority. The mission and purposes of the\n\nOklahoma State University Veterinary Medicine Authority are to\n\nsupport and upon a declaration of necessity, to serve as teaching\n\nand training facilities for students enrolled at the Oklahoma State\n\nUniversity College of Veterinary Medicine, upon a declaration of\n\nnecessity, to acquire and provide a site for conducting veterinary\n\nmedical and biomedical research by faculty members of Oklahoma State\n\nUniversity, to facilitate and upon a declaration of necessity, to\n\nprovide care for the animal patients of Oklahoma State University\n\nCollege of Veterinary Medicine veterinarian trainers and upon a\n\ndeclaration of necessity to provide support or the safety of the\n\npublic related to animal disease and testing. The Oklahoma State\n\nUniversity Veterinary Medicine Authority shall maintain a close\n\naffiliation with the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary\n\nMedicine and shall coordinate their operations and activities in a\n\ncooperative manner.\n\nB. The Legislature finds that the needs of the citizens of this\n\nstate and the needs of the Oklahoma State University College of\n\nVeterinary Medicine will be best served by an Authority charged with\n\nthe mission of supporting the Veterinary Medicine Education programs\n\nof the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine,\n\nentering into academic affiliation agreements in support of Oklahoma\n\nState University veterinarian training programs, operating or\n\nleasing the operations of the teaching animal hospital or hospitals\n\nfor the benefit of the Oklahoma State University College of\n\nVeterinary Medicine and providing care for the animal patients of\n\nOklahoma State University veterinarian trainers.\n\nC.
