Stat. tit. 2, § 2-5-121","heading":"Definitions","body":"For purposes of the Urban Gardens Grant Act:\n\n1. “Department” means the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture,\n\nFood, and Forestry;\n\n2. “Food desert” means a census tract that is designated as\n\nboth a low-income area and a low access area;\n\n3. “Low access area” means a census tract, as reported in the\n\nmost recent decennial census published by the United States Bureau\n\nof the Census, where at least 500 persons or 33 percent (33%) of\n\ntheir population live more than:\n\na one (1) mile from a supermarket or large grocery store\n\nin urban areas, and\n\nb. ten (10) miles from a supermarket or large grocery\n\nstore in rural areas;\n\n4. “Low-income area” means a census tract, as reported in the\n\nmost recent decennial census published by the United States Bureau\n\nof the Census, where at least 20 percent (20%) of the people have\n\nincome at or below the federal poverty levels for family size, or\n\nwhere median family income for the tract is at or below 80 percent\n\n(80%) of the surrounding area’s median family income.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"60a694e86ddb95063b5e2702291de44eb9e24664563bdd6a7ef348b6f5be34b9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-120","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-122"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
