Stat. tit. 2, § 2-5-303","heading":"Definitions","body":"For purposes of the Oklahoma Organic Food Act:\n\n1. “Certification or certified” means a determination made by a\n\ncertifying agent that a production or handling operation is in\n\ncompliance with this subarticle and rules promulgated pursuant\n\nthereto;\n\n2. “Certificate of Organic Production” means an official\n\ndocument issued by an accredited certifying agent to document the\n\ncertification of a production or handling operation;\n\n3. “Certifying agent” means a person accredited by the\n\nSecretary of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to\n\ncertify a producer or handler for the purposes of the Oklahoma\n\nOrganic Food Act or the Organic Food Production Act of 1990, as\n\namended and rules promulgated pursuant thereto;\n\n4. “Certified operation” means a crop or livestock production,\n\nwild-crop harvesting, or handling operation, or portion of an\n\noperation that is certified by an accredited certifying agent as\n\nutilizing a system of organic production or handling as described by\n\nthe Oklahoma Organic Food Act or the Organic Food Production Act of\n\n1990, as amended and the rules promulgated pursuant thereto;\n\n5. “Organic food” means edible consumer products produced,\n\nprocessed, packaged, and handled under a system of organic\n\nproduction;\n\n6. “Organic production” means a production system that is\n\nmanaged in accordance with the Oklahoma Organic Food Act and rules\n\npromulgated pursuant thereto or the Organic Food Production Act of\n\n1990, 7 U.S.C., Section 6501 et seq., as amended, to respond to\n\nsite-specific conditions by integrating cultural, biological, and\n\nmechanical practices that foster recycling of resources, promote\n\necological balance, and conserve biodiversity; and\n\n7. “Producer” means a person who engages in the business of\n\nplanting, growing, or harvesting food, fiber, feed, and other\n\nagricultural-based consumer products.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a55ebbc9084f85d17bee84c205b64d8252a61ff440738642e069f91fc0a69103","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-302","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
