There is hereby created the “Industry Advisory Committee”\n\nwithin the Oklahoma Food and Agricultural Products Research and\n\nTechnology Center located at Oklahoma State University in\n\nStillwater, Oklahoma. The Committee shall consist of one ex officio\n\nnonvoting member and fifteen appointed members. The Committee shall\n\nbe advisory to the Oklahoma Food and Agricultural Products Research\n\nand Technology Center. The Committee shall assist and advise the\n\nOklahoma Food and Agricultural Products Research and Technology\n\nCenter in prioritizing projects, in setting fees, and in creating\n\nand designing joint ventures for the development and advancement of\n\nthe production, processing, handling, and marketing of agricultural\n\ncommodities, so the Center may meet the needs of the state's value-\n\nadded processing entities.\n\nB. The Committee shall consist of sixteen (16) members as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. The Dean of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and\n\nNatural Resources of Oklahoma State University shall serve as an ex\n\nofficio nonvoting member;\n\n2. The Governor shall appoint four members to serve three-year\n\nterms, two of whom shall be nationally based food processors, one of\n\nwhom shall be a member of the “Made in Oklahoma” organization, and\n\none of whom shall represent a state, county, or city economic\n\ndevelopment agency. Of the members initially appointed, two shall\n\nserve a one-year term, one shall serve a two-year term, and one\n\nshall serve a three-year term;\n\n3. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall appoint four\n\nmembers to serve three-year terms, one of whom shall be involved in\n\nfood transportation, one of whom shall be involved in textiles, one\n\nof whom shall be involved in industrial or pharmaceutical products,\n\nand one of whom shall be an Oklahoma-based food processor. Of the\n\nmembers initially appointed, one shall serve a one-year term, two\n\nshall serve a two-year term, and one shall serve a three-year term;\n\n4. The Speaker of the House of Representatives shall appoint\n\nfour members to serve three-year terms, one of whom shall be\n\ninvolved in food marketing, one of whom shall be involved in food\n\ndistribution, one of whom shall be involved in industrial or\n\npharmaceutical products, and one of whom shall be an Oklahoma-based\n\nfood processor. Of the members initially appointed, one shall serve\n\na one-year term, one shall serve a two-year term, and two shall\n\nserve a three-year term; and\n\n5. The Dean of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and\n\nNatural Resources of Oklahoma State University shall appoint three\n\nmembers to serve three-year terms, one of whom shall be an Oklahoma-\n\nbased food processor, and two of whom shall be involved in\n\nproduction agriculture. Of the members initially appointed, one\n\nshall serve a one-year term, one shall serve a two-year term, and\n\none shall serve a three-year term.\n\nC. Any vacancies in the appointed membership of the Industry\n\nAdvisory Committee shall be filled in the same manner as the\n\noriginal appointment.\n\nD. The Committee shall elect from among its members a chair,\n\nvice-chair, and any other officers that the Committee determines\n\nnecessary.\n\nE. The Committee shall meet at least biannually.\n\nF. The Committee may appoint subcommittees as necessary to\n\ncarry out its duties pursuant to this section.\n\nG. Members of the Committee shall not receive a salary for\n\nduties performed by the Committee. Members of the Committee shall\n\nbe reimbursed for necessary travel expenses incurred in the\n\nperformance of their official duties in accordance with the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act. The Oklahoma Food and Agricultural\n\nProducts Research and Technology Center shall be responsible for\n\npaying travel expenses.\n\nH. A majority of the members shall constitute a quorum.\nies performed by the Committee.
