The purpose of the Oklahoma Agricultural Commodity Act is:\n\n1. To authorize and prescribe the necessary procedures by which\n\nthe producers of agricultural commodities grown in this state may\n\nestablish agricultural commodity producers boards to finance\n\nprograms devised to alleviate any circumstance or condition that\n\nserves to impede the production, marketing, research or use of\n\nagricultural commodities; and\n\n2. To establish a procedure for an existing statutory commodity\n\nboard to privatize and convert to a successor organization.\n\nB. Agriculture commodity producers boards established pursuant\n\nto the Oklahoma Agricultural Commodity Act shall be state agencies\n\nfor purposes of The Governmental Tort Claims Act and are exempt from\n\ntaxation in the same manner and to the same extent as other state\n\nagencies.
