Stat. tit. 2, § 2-5-602","heading":"Definitions","body":"\n\nFor the purpose of this act, the following definitions shall\n\napply:\n\n1. \"Charitable organization\" means any benevolent,\n\nphilanthropic, patriotic, eleemosynary, educational, social, civic,\n\nrecreational or religious group or association, or any other person\n\nperforming or purporting to perform acts beneficial to the public;\n\n2. \"Food\" means any raw, cooked, processed, or prepared edible\n\nsubstance, ice, beverage, or ingredient used or intended to be used\n\nin whole or in part for human consumption that is apparently fit for\n\nhuman consumption. Food includes nonperishable food, perishable\n\nfood, and wild game;\n\n3. \"Gleaner\" means a person who gleans an agricultural crop\n\nthat has been donated by the owner of the agricultural crop;\n\n4. \"Gleans\" or \"gleaned\" means to gather an agricultural crop\n\nleftover after a harvest;\n\n5. \"Nonprofit corporation\" means a corporation formed for a\n\npurpose not involving pecuniary gain to its shareholders or members,\n\npaying no dividends or other pecuniary remuneration, directly or\n\nindirectly, to its shareholders or members as such, and having no\n\ncapital stock;\n\n6. \"Nonperishable food\" means any food that has been\n\ncommercially processed, prepared, and packaged for human consumption\n\nand that is intended to remain fit for human consumption without\n\nrefrigeration for a reasonable length of time;\n\n7. \"Person\" means an individual, corporation, business trust,\n\nestate trust, partnership, limited liability company, association,\n\njoint venture, or any other legal or commercial entity. Person does\n\nnot include a government, governmental subdivision, agency,\n\ninstrumentality, or a public corporation;\n\n8. \"Perishable food\" means any food that may spoil or otherwise\n\nbecome unfit for human consumption because of its nature, type, or\n\nphysical condition. Perishable food includes all of the following:\n\na. fresh and processed meats, poultry, fish, dairy\n\nproducts, or bakery products,\n\nb. eggs in shell, and\n\nc. fresh fruits and vegetables;\n\n9. \"State agency\" means any office, department, board,\n\ncommission, committee, court, school district, board of education,\n\nor other instrumentality of the government of this state existing by\n\nvirtue of an act of the Oklahoma Legislature or the Constitution of\n\nthis state;\n\n10. \"Wild game\" means any of the following that are legally\n\ntaken under the laws of this state:\n\na. game animals as defined in Sections 2-116 and 2-145 of\n\nTitle 29 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nb. game birds as defined in Sections 2-112 and 2-114 of\n\nTitle 29 of the Oklahoma Statutes, and\n\nc. game fish as defined in Section 2-115 in Title 29 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2cf0aeffab290b9a905c47c7e4f66a7254b70fa452cdbbaa33af356f09617556","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-601","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
