Stat. tit. 2, § 2-5-63.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Commodity Research Enhancement Act:\n\n1. \"Agricultural commodity\" means an agricultural commodity,\n\nhorticultural commodity, silvicultural commodity, or agricultural\n\nproduct, horticultural product, viticulture, or silvicultural\n\nproduct, or bees and honey, planting seed, rice, livestock or\n\nlivestock product, or poultry or poultry product produced in this\n\nstate, either in its natural state or as processed by the producer;\n\n2. \"Board\" means federally approved commodity board;\n\n3. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of the Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry;\n\n4. \"District\" means a geographical area within the jurisdiction\n\nof a board;\n\n5. \"Federally approved commodity board\" means a board organized\n\nand sanctioned by the United States Department of Agriculture to\n\nreceive a federal assessment for the specific commodity;\n\n6. \"Nonprofit commodity organization\" means any organization\n\nrepresenting commodity producers with the ability to seek a state\n\nassessment and designate a federally approved commodity board as the\n\nrecipient;\n\n7. \"Person\" means an individual, firm, corporation,\n\nassociation, or any other business entity;\n\n8. \"Processor\" means a person who:\n\na. is a purchaser, warehouseman, processor, or other\n\ncommercial handler of an agricultural commodity, or\n\nb. is engaged in the operation of packing, grading,\n\nselling, offering for sale or marketing any\n\nagricultural commodity in commercial quantities as\n\ndefined in a marketing program, who as owner, agent,\n\nor otherwise, ships or causes agricultural commodities\n\nto be shipped;\n\n9. \"Producer\" means a person engaged in the business of\n\nproducing or causing to be produced for commercial purposes an\n\nagricultural commodity. The term \"producer\" includes the owner of a\n\nfarm on which the commodity is produced and the owner's tenant or\n\nsharecropper; and\n\n10. \"Volume of production\" shall be defined by the certified\n\norganization and can refer to units of product sold such as pounds,\n\nbushels, gallons, flats, containers, packages, or other commonly\n\nrecognized units of measure, square footage or acreage of production\n\nspace or other appropriate measurement units, or number of\n\nproduction units, such as trees, vines, head count of livestock or\n\npoultry, or other commonly recognized measurement units, or gross\n\nsales.","path":["OK Code","Title 2"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os2.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"72130877a045553e2978f2c1f6b14f5a365023c6c0b772abbe6320991525875b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-63.18","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-2-2-5-63.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
