Rabbit and rabbit products are an important source of the\n\nnation's total supply of food. It is essential in the public\n\ninterest that the health and welfare of consumers be protected by\n\nassuring that slaughtered rabbit and rabbit products distributed to\n\nthem are wholesome, not adulterated, and properly marked, labeled,\n\nand packaged. Unwholesome, adulterated, or misbranded rabbit or\n\nrabbit products are injurious to the public welfare, destroy markets\n\nfor wholesome, not adulterated, and properly labeled and packaged\n\nrabbit and rabbit products, and result in sundry losses to rabbit\n\nproducers and processors of rabbit and rabbit products, as well as\n\ninjury to consumers. The unwholesome, adulterated, mislabeled, or\n\ndeceptively packaged articles can be sold at lower prices and\n\ncompete unfairly with the wholesome, not adulterated, and properly\n\nlabeled and packaged articles, to the detriment of consumers and the\n\npublic generally.\n\nB.
