The Board on Judicial Compensation shall meet on the third\n\nTuesday of September in every odd-numbered year in the\n\nAdministrative Office of the Courts, at which meeting the Board\n\nshall review the compensation paid to members of the State Judiciary\n\nand, if necessary, change the compensation. In its review, the\n\nBoard shall consider various factors, including judicial\n\ncompensation in other states, with an emphasis on states within the\n\nregion, the value of comparable services performed in the private\n\nsector, compensation of attorneys in the private and public sectors,\n\ncompensation of other state, county and municipal public officials,\n\nand changes in the cost of living. The Board may, at the call of\n\nthe chair or upon a majority vote of its membership, hold such\n\nadditional meetings as are necessary to carry out its official\n\nduties. Any change in judicial compensation shall be made by the\n\nBoard not later than the third Tuesday of November in the odd-\n\nnumbered year. Four members of the Board shall constitute a quorum\n\nand a majority vote of the quorum shall be necessary for the Board\n\nto act. If the Board recommends a change in judicial compensation,\n\nnotice of such recommendation shall be provided to the Governor, the\n\nPresident Pro Tempore and the Chair of the Appropriations Committee\n\nof the Senate, and the Speaker and the Chair of the Appropriations\n\nand Budget Committee of the House of Representatives.\n\nB. Any change in judicial compensation, unless rejected or\n\namended as provided for in Section 3.2 of this title, shall become\n\neffective on July 1 of the following calendar year.
