Stat. tit. 20, § 20-30.16","heading":"Judge's declaration of candidacy - Ballot question","body":"At the General Election next before a term expires, any Judge of\n\nthe Court of Civil Appeals may seek retention in office by filing\n\nwith the Secretary of State, not less than sixty (60) days before\n\nthe date of the election, a declaration of candidacy to succeed\n\nhimself or herself. At the election, there shall be submitted to\n\nthe qualified electors of the state, on a separate ballot, without\n\nparty designation, this question:\n\n\"Shall (Here insert name of Judge) of the Court of Civil\n\nAppeals be retained in Office?\"\n\n/ / YES\n\n/ / NO\n\nThe question shall be decided by a majority of those voting thereon.\n\nIf the decision is \"yes\" the Judge shall be retained in office for\n\nthe next ensuing six-year term.
