Stat. tit. 20, § 20-30.17","heading":"Vacancies","body":"In case a Judge of the Court of Civil Appeals dies, retires,\n\nresigns, or is removed from office, the Governor shall fill the\n\nvacancy by appointment from the congressional district where the\n\nvacancy exists of a person having the required qualifications. The\n\nJudicial Nominating Commission shall choose and submit to the\n\nGovernor and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court three nominees,\n\neach of whom has previously notified the Commission in writing that\n\nhe or she will serve as a Judge if appointed.
