Except as otherwise provided for in this subsection, the\n\nterm of office for Judges of the Court of Criminal Appeals shall be\n\nsix (6) years. The initial term of office for the Judge in Court of\n\nCriminal Appeals Judicial District No. 4, who shall be the Judge\n\noccupying the Court of Criminal Appeals Northern District on October\n\n31, 1987, shall expire on the second Monday in January, 1989. The\n\ninitial term of office for the Judge in Court of Criminal Appeals\n\nJudicial District No. 2, who shall be the Judge occupying the Court\n\nof Criminal Appeals Southern District on October 31, 1987, shall\n\nexpire on the second Monday in January, 1991. The initial term of\n\noffice for the Judge in Court of Criminal Appeals Judicial District\n\nNo. 1, who shall be the Judge occupying the Court of Criminal\n\nAppeals Eastern District on October 31, 1987, shall expire on the\n\nsecond Monday in January, 1993. The Governor shall appoint a Judge\n\nfor Court of Criminal Appeals Judicial District No. 5 whose initial\n\nterm shall commence on the second Monday in January, 1989, and\n\nexpire on the second Monday in January, 1995, and a Judge for Court\n\nof Criminal Appeals Judicial District No. 3 whose initial term shall\n\ncommence on the second Monday in January, 1989, and expire on the\n\nsecond Monday in January, 1997.\n\nB. The Court of Criminal Appeals shall organize at the first\n\nsession following the second Monday in January next after each\n\nbiennial election. The Judges shall choose from among their members\n\na Presiding Judge and a Vice Presiding Judge who shall be Presiding\n\nJudge and Vice Presiding Judge of the said Court for the next two\n\n(2) years.\n\nC. The organization of the Court of Criminal Appeals existing\n\non October 31, 1987, shall continue until the second Monday in\n\nJanuary, 1989.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 1763.
