Stat. tit. 20, § 20-644","heading":"Courts or counties abolished or abandoned - Courts","body":"declared invalid - Transfer of pending cases.\n\nWhenever any court is heretofore or may hereafter be created and\n\nthereafter abandoned, or where any county is heretofore or hereafter\n\nabandoned, all civil or criminal cases, which may be filed in such\n\ncreated courts or in the courts of such created counties, shall be\n\ntransferred to the court of said county wherein such court town is\n\nlocated, or, if the county is created and thereafter abandoned, the\n\ncases filed, and the dockets and records of said court are hereby\n\ntransferred, and a new county created and thereafter abandoned, all\n\ncases filed in the district court or in the county court, shall be\n\nhereafter transferred into courts of such counties having\n\njurisdiction over the territory formerly under the jurisdiction of\n\nsuch county and courts and such judge, of the newly organized\n\ncounty, or the county in which the territory of such courts was\n\nlocated, shall have complete jurisdiction over all cases therein\n\npending and dispose of same as if said cases were originally filed\n\nin such court and dispose of things as fully and completely as if\n\nsuch court had original jurisdiction of said matter. Whenever a\n\ncourt is created with jurisdiction concurrent to that of a district\n\ncourt and such newly created court is later abandoned, abolished, or\n\ndeclared invalid, all civil or criminal cases filed in such created\n\ncourt shall be transferred to the district court of the district\n\nwherein such created court exercised concurrent jurisdiction. The\n\ntransfer of said cases shall be accomplished forthwith under the\n\ndirection of the district judge by the court clerk of the county in\n\nwhich said created court is later abandoned, abolished, or declared\n\ninvalid, and said transfer to the district court shall have the same\n\neffect as if said cases had been originally filed in the said\n\ndistrict court and no additional court costs shall be assessed for\n\nsuch transfer or docketing in the district court.
