Stat. tit. 21, § 21-11","heading":"Special provisions as governing - Acts punishable in","body":"different ways.\n\nIf there be in any other provision of the laws of this state a\n\nprovision making any specific act or omission criminal and providing\n\nthe punishment therefor, and there be in this title any provision or\n\nsection making the same act or omission a criminal offense or\n\nprescribing the punishment therefor, that offense and the punishment\n\nthereof, shall be governed by the special provisions made in\n\nrelation thereto, and not by the provisions of this title. But an\n\nact or omission which is made punishable in different ways by\n\ndifferent provisions of this title may be punished under any of such\n\nprovisions, except that in cases specified in Sections 51.1 and 54\n\nof this title, the punishments therein prescribed are substituted\n\nfor those prescribed for a first offense, but in no case can a\n\ncriminal act or omission be punished under more than one section of\n\nlaw; and an acquittal or conviction and sentence under one section\n\nof law, bars the prosecution for the same act or omission under any\n\nother section of law.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 2092.
