Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1158b","heading":"Funeral service agreements - Instructions","body":"Any person signing a funeral service agreement, cremation\n\nauthorization form, or any other authorization for disposition shall\n\nbe deemed to warrant the truthfulness of any facts set forth\n\ntherein, including the identity of the decedent whose remains are to\n\nbe buried, cremated, or otherwise disposed of, and the authority of\n\nthe person to order such disposition. A funeral establishment shall\n\nhave the right to rely on such funeral service contract or\n\nauthorization and shall have the authority to carry out the\n\ninstructions of the person or persons who the funeral director\n\nreasonably believes holds the right of disposition. The funeral\n\ndirector shall have no responsibility to contact or to independently\n\ninvestigate the existence of any next of kin or relative of the\n\ndecedent. If there is more than one person in a class who are equal\n\nin priority and the funeral director has no knowledge of any\n\nobjection by other members of such class, the funeral director shall\n\nbe entitled to rely on and act according to the instructions of the\n\nfirst person in the class to make funeral and disposition\n\narrangements; provided that no other person in such class provides\n\nwritten notice of objections to the funeral director.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"00ac344cf75a4564c20fc7fd872e30d5a0e1ac25441851eed0f08b5bbf1b54e4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1158a","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1158c"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
