Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1229","heading":"Exhibition livestock - Administration of certain","body":"substances or performance of certain surgical procedures to alter\n\nappearance.\n\nFor livestock utilized for exhibition purposes, it shall be\n\nunlawful for any person to inject into the livestock or cause the\n\nlivestock to ingest any drug, chemical or substance that is not\n\nlabeled for use on animals, or to administer any chemical or\n\nsubstance used on livestock for the specific purpose of altering the\n\nappearance of livestock or to alter the muscle or fat content of the\n\nanimal's carcass or to perform any surgical procedure to alter the\n\nappearance of the livestock. Ordinary and customary veterinarian\n\nprocedures, including but not limited to dehorning, branding,\n\ntagging or notching ears, castrating, deworming, vaccinating or\n\ndocking the tail of farm animals shall not be prohibited. Surgery\n\nof any kind performed to change the natural contour or appearance of\n\nthe animal's body or hide, shall be prohibited by this section. Any\n\nviolation of the provisions of this section shall be a misdemeanor,\n\nupon conviction, punishable by a fine of not less than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), nor more than Ten Thousand Dollars\n\n($10,000.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not\n\nless than thirty (30) days nor more than one (1) year, or by both\n\nsuch fine and imprisonment.
