Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1289.27","heading":"Prohibiting firearm inquiry by employer","body":"PROHIBITING FIREARM INQUIRY BY EMPLOYER\n\nA. It shall be unlawful for any private employer doing business\n\nin this state to ask any applicant for employment information about\n\nwhether the applicant owns or possesses a firearm. Any private\n\nemployer who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon\n\nconviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not\n\nmore than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).\n\nB. All public employers and public officials within this state\n\nshall be prohibited from asking any applicant for employment\n\ninformation about whether the applicant owns or possesses a firearm.\n\nAny public employer or public official who violates the provisions\n\nof this subsection shall be deemed to be acting outside the scope of\n\ntheir employment and shall be barred from seeking statutory immunity\n\nfrom any exemption or provision of The Governmental Tort Claims Act.\n\nC.
