Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1290.5v1","heading":"Term of license and renewal","body":"TERM OF LICENSE AND RENEWAL\n\nA. A handgun license when issued shall authorize the person to\n\nwhom the license is issued to carry a loaded or unloaded handgun,\n\nconcealed or unconcealed, as authorized by the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Self-Defense Act, and any future modifications thereto.\n\nThe license shall be valid in this state for a period of five (5) or\n\nten (10) years, unless subsequently surrendered, suspended or\n\nrevoked as provided by law. The person shall have no authority to\n\ncontinue to carry a concealed or unconcealed handgun in this state\n\npursuant to the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act when a license is expired\n\nor when a license has been voluntarily surrendered or suspended or\n\nrevoked for any reason.\n\nB. A license may be renewed any time within ninety (90) days\n\nprior to the expiration date as provided in this subsection. The\n\nBureau may notify each eligible licensee at the email address on\n\nfile at least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the\n\nlicense. However, any applicant shall have three (3) years from the\n\nexpiration of the license to comply with the renewal requirements of\n\nthis section. Renewal applications shall be denied by the Oklahoma\n\nState Bureau of Investigation if a current license is subject to\n\nbeing suspended or revoked or if the license has previously been\n\nsuspended or revoked by the Bureau.\n\n1. To renew a handgun license, the licensee must first obtain a\n\nrenewal form from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.\n\n2. The applicant must complete the renewal form, attach two\n\ncurrent passport-size photographs of the applicant, and submit a\n\nrenewal fee in the amount of Eighty-five Dollars ($85.00) to the\n\nBureau. The renewal fee may be paid with a nationally recognized\n\ncredit card as provided in subparagraph b of paragraph 4 of\n\nsubsection A of Section 1290.12 of this title, by electronic funds\n\ntransfer, or by a cashier's check or money order made payable to the\n\nOklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.\n\n3. Upon receipt of the renewal application, photographs and\n\nfee, the Bureau will conduct a background check and investigation\n\npursuant to Section 1290.12 of this title, excluding the\n\nrequirements of a state fingerprint search and Federal Bureau of\n\nInvestigation fingerprint search.\n\nC. Beginning November 1, 2007, any person making application\n\nfor a handgun license or any licensee seeking to renew a handgun\n\nlicense shall have the option to request that the license be valid\n\nfor a period of ten (10) years. The fee for any handgun license\n\nissued for a period of ten (10) years shall be double the amount of\n\nthe fee provided for in paragraph 4 of subsection A of Section\n\n1290.12 of this title.
