Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1290.5v2","heading":"Term of license and renewal","body":"TERM OF LICENSE AND RENEWAL\n\nA. A handgun license when issued shall authorize the person to\n\nwhom the license is issued to carry a loaded or unloaded handgun,\n\nconcealed or unconcealed, as authorized by the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Self-Defense Act, and any future modifications thereto.\n\nThe license shall be valid in this state for a period of five (5) or\n\nten (10) years, unless subsequently surrendered, suspended, or\n\nrevoked as provided by law. The person shall have no authority to\n\ncontinue to carry a concealed or unconcealed handgun in this state\n\npursuant to the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act when a license is expired\n\nor when a license has been voluntarily surrendered or suspended or\n\nrevoked for any reason.\n\nB. A license may be renewed any time within ninety (90) days\n\nprior to the expiration date as provided in this subsection. The\n\nOklahoma State Bureau of Investigation may notify each eligible\n\nlicensee at the email address on file at least ninety (90) days\n\nprior to the expiration of the license. However, any applicant\n\nshall have thirty (30) days from the expiration of the license to\n\ncomply with the renewal requirements of this section. Renewal\n\napplications shall be denied by the Bureau if a current license is\n\nsubject to being or currently is suspended or revoked by the Bureau.\n\n1. To renew a handgun license, the licensee may either complete\n\na written renewal form provided by the Bureau or a digital renewal\n\nform provided by the Bureau online.\n\n2. If the applicant completes the digital renewal form online,\n\nthe applicant must submit a passport-sized photograph with the\n\napplication. If the applicant completes a written renewal\n\napplication, the applicant must submit two current passport-sized\n\nphotographs of the applicant with the application.\n\n3. A renewal fee in the amount of Eighty-five Dollars ($85.00)\n\nmust be submitted to the Bureau with an application. The renewal\n\nfee may be paid with a nationally recognized credit card as provided\n\nin subparagraph b of paragraph 4 of subsection A of Section 1290.12\n\nof this title, by electronic funds transfer, or by a cashier’s check\n\nor money order made payable to the Oklahoma State Bureau of\n\nInvestigation.\n\n4. Upon receipt of the renewal application, photographs, and\n\nfee, the Bureau will conduct a background check and investigation\n\npursuant to Section 1290.12 of this title, excluding the\n\nrequirements of a state fingerprint search and Federal Bureau of\n\nInvestigation fingerprint search.\n\nC. Any person submitting an application for a handgun license\n\nor any licensee seeking to renew a handgun license shall have the\n\noption to request that the license be valid for a period of ten (10)\n\nyears. The fee for any handgun license issued for a period of ten\n\n(10) years shall be double the amount of the fee provided for in\n\nparagraph 4 of subsection A of Section 1290.12 of this title.
