Any person who willfully and maliciously sets fire to or\n\nburns or by the use of any explosive device or substance destroys in\n\nwhole or in part, or causes to be burned or destroyed, or aids,\n\ncounsels or procures the burning of any property whatsoever,\n\nincluding automobiles, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, boats,\n\nstanding farm crops, pasture lands, forest lands, or any other\n\nproperty not herein specifically named, such property being worth\n\nnot less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00), whether the property of\n\nhimself or another, shall be guilty of arson in the third degree, a\n\nClass C1 felony offense, and upon conviction thereof shall be\n\npunished by a fine not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00),\n\nor be confined as provided for in subsections B through E of Section\n\n20L of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. Any person who willfully and maliciously, and with intent to\n\ninjure or defraud the insurer, sets fire to or burns or by use of\n\nany explosive device or substance destroys in whole or in part, or\n\ncauses to be burned or destroyed, or aids, counsels, or procures the\n\nburning or destruction of any building, property, or other chattels,\n\nwhether the property of himself or another, which shall at the time\n\nbe insured against loss or damage by fire or explosion, shall be\n\nguilty of arson in the third degree, a Class B3 felony offense, and\n\nupon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed\n\nTen Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) or be confined in the State\n\nPenitentiary for not more than fifteen (15) years or both.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"381f59c5d899229a17d4fe2e37974c9acdc2b29147751c4aa482dd8df59a69b1","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1402","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
