Any person who willfully and maliciously attempts to set\n\nfire to or burn or attempts by use of any explosive device or\n\nsubstance to destroy in whole or in part, or causes to be burned or\n\ndestroyed, or attempts to counsel or procure the burning or\n\ndestruction of any building or property mentioned in Sections 1401,\n\n1402 or 1403 of this title shall be guilty of arson in the fourth\n\ndegree, a Class C2 felony offense, and upon conviction thereof shall\n\nbe punished by a fine not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars\n\n($5,000.00), or be confined as provided for in subsections B through\n\nF of Section 20M of this title, or both.\n\nB. The placing or distributing of any flammable, explosive or\n\ncombustible material or substance or any device in any building or\n\nproperty mentioned in Sections 1401, 1402 or 1403 of this title, in\n\nan arrangement or preparation with intent to eventually willfully\n\nand maliciously set fire to or burn or to procure the setting fire\n\nto or burning of same, shall for the purposes of this section\n\nconstitute an attempt to burn such building or property, and shall\n\nbe guilty of arson in the fourth degree, a Class C1 felony offense,\n\nand upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to\n\nexceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), or be confined as provided\n\nfor in subsections B through E of Section 20L of this title, or\n\nboth.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6c032c16ef8b2b0406b4d03f733620e4d3edf8a908343ce9201d6f260269390f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1403","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-1405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
