Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1416","heading":"Unlawful delivery of goods","body":"Any person mentioned in Section 1412 of this title, who delivers\n\nto another any merchandise for which any bill of lading, receipt or\n\nvoucher has been issued, unless such receipt or voucher bore upon\n\nits face the words \"Not negotiable\", plainly written or stamped, or\n\nunless such receipt is surrendered to be canceled at the time of\n\ndelivery or unless, in the case of partial delivery, a memorandum\n\nthereof is endorsed upon such receipt or voucher, shall be\n\npunishable as follows:\n\n1. If the value of the property is less than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), the person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor\n\npunishable by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one (1)\n\nyear, or by a fine not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00),\n\nor by both such imprisonment and fine;\n\n2. If the value of the property is One Thousand Dollars\n\n($1,000.00) or more but less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars\n\n($2,500.00), the person shall be guilty of a Class D3 felony offense\n\npunishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through\n\nF of Section 20P of this title, or by a fine not to exceed One\n\nThousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by both such imprisonment and fine;\n\n3. If the value of the property is Two Thousand Five Hundred\n\nDollars ($2,500.00) or more but less than Fifteen Thousand Dollars\n\n($15,000.00), the person shall be guilty of a Class D1 felony\n\noffense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B\n\nthrough F of Section 20N of this title, or by a fine not to exceed\n\nOne Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by both such imprisonment and\n\nfine; and\n\n4. If the value of the property is Fifteen Thousand Dollars\n\n($15,000.00) or more, the person shall be guilty of a Class C2\n\nfelony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in\n\nsubsections B through F of Section 20M of this title, or by a fine\n\nnot to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by both such\n\nimprisonment and fine.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 2715.
