Stat. tit. 21, § 21-142.1","heading":"Intent of Legislature","body":"It is the intent of the Legislature to provide a method of\n\ncompensating and assisting those persons who become victims of\n\ncriminal acts and who suffer physical or psychological injury or\n\ndeath who are either within this state or who are residents of this\n\nstate who become victims, as defined in Section 142.3 of this title,\n\nin states that have no crime victims compensation program. It is\n\nthe further intent of the Legislature that district attorney offices\n\nshall provide services to victims of crime, as provided by law, and\n\nto assist in completing victim compensation claims pursuant to this\n\nact.
