If compensation is awarded, the state shall be subrogated to\n\nall the rights of a claimant to receive or recover from a collateral\n\nsource to the extent that compensation was awarded.\n\nB. In the event the claimant recovers compensation, other than\n\nunder the provisions of this act, for injuries or death resulting\n\nfrom criminally injurious conduct, the claimant shall retain, as\n\ntrustee, so much of the recovered funds as necessary to reimburse\n\nthe Victims Compensation Revolving Fund to the extent that\n\ncompensation was awarded to the claimant from that Fund. The funds\n\nretained in trust shall be promptly deposited in the Victims\n\nCompensation Revolving Fund.\n\nC. If a claimant brings an action to recover damages related to\n\nthe criminally injurious conduct upon which compensation is claimed\n\nor awarded, the claimant shall give the Board written notice of the\n\naction.
