The Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence (SAFE) Board shall\n\nconsist of seventeen (17) members as follows:\n\n1. Four nonvoting members as follows:\n\na. the President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall appoint\n\ntwo members of the Senate who shall not be members of\n\nthe same political party, and\n\nb. the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall\n\nappoint two members of the House of Representatives\n\nwho shall not be members of the same political party;\n\n2. Seven voting members as follows:\n\na. the Attorney General or designee,\n\nb. the Director of the Oklahoma State Bureau of\n\nInvestigation or designee,\n\nc. the Chief of the Oklahoma City Police Department or\n\ndesignee,\n\nd. the Chief of the Tulsa Police Department or designee,\n\ne. the Executive Coordinator of the District Attorneys\n\nCouncil or designee,\n\nf. the Executive Director of the Native Alliance Against\n\nViolence or designee, and\n\ng. the Executive Director of the Council on Law\n\nEnforcement Education and Training or designee; and\n\n3. Six voting members to be appointed by the Attorney General\n\nto serve for terms of two (2) years and who shall be eligible for\n\nreappointment. Such members shall be persons having training or\n\nexperience in matters related to sexual assault. The appointed\n\nmembers shall include:\n\na. a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner selected from a list\n\nof three names submitted by the Oklahoma Nurses\n\nAssociation,\n\nb. a chief of a municipal police department, not\n\ndesignated in subparagraph c or d of paragraph 2 of\n\nthis subsection, selected from a list of three names\n\nsubmitted by the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of\n\nPolice,\n\nc. a county sheriff selected from a list of three names\n\nsubmitted by the executive board of the Oklahoma\n\nSheriffs’ Association,\n\nd. an attorney from an office of public defenders with\n\ncriminal defense experience from a list of three names\n\nsubmitted by the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System or\n\nother public defenders organization,\n\ne. an advocate of sexual assault victims from a\n\ncommunity-based organization, and\n\nf. a person who is a survivor of sexual assault and who\n\nhas experience with sexual assault forensic evidence\n\nkit collection or is a survivor of sexual assault\n\ncommitted in this state who has participated in the\n\njustice system process.\n\nB. Every two (2) years the Board shall elect from among its\n\nmembership a chair and a vice chair. The Board shall meet at least\n\nquarterly and may meet more frequently as necessary as determined by\n\nthe chair. Seven (7) voting members or their designees, as\n\nspecified in paragraphs 2 and 3 of subsection A of this section,\n\nshall constitute a quorum.\n\nC. Members shall serve without compensation but may be\n\nreimbursed for necessary travel out of funds available to the Office\n\nof the Attorney General pursuant to the State Travel Reimbursement\n\nAct; provided, that the reimbursement shall be paid in the case of\n\nstate employee members by the agency employing the member.\n\nD.
