Forgery in the first degree is a Class B3 felony offense\n\npunishable by imprisonment not less than seven (7) years nor more\n\nthan twenty (20) years; and\n\n2. Forgery in the second degree is a Class D1 felony offense\n\npunishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through\n\nF of Section 20N of this title.\n\n3. Forgery in the third degree is:\n\na. If the value of the forgery is less than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), a misdemeanor punishable by\n\nconfinement for not more than one (1) year and by a\n\nfine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).\n\nb. If the value of the forgery is One Thousand Dollars\n\n($1,000.00) or more, a Class D1 felony offense\n\npunishable by imprisonment as provided for in\n\nsubsections B through F of Section 20N of this title.\n\nc. If the total or aggregate value of the forgery is Two\n\nThousand Dollars ($2,000.00) or more, a Class D1\n\nfelony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided\n\nfor in subsections B through F of Section 20N of this\n\ntitle.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 2644.
