Stat. tit. 21, § 21-1740.2","heading":"Holding, concealing, destroying or taking mail from","body":"another person.\n\nA. As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Mail\" means a letter, postal card, package, bag or any\n\nother article or thing contained therein, or other sealed article\n\naddressed to a person, that:\n\na. is delivered by a common carrier or delivery service\n\nand not yet received by the addressee, or\n\nb. has been left to be collected for delivery by a common\n\ncarrier or delivery service; and\n\n2. \"Person\" means an individual, partnership, corporation,\n\nlimited liability company, association or other legal entity.\n\nB. It shall be unlawful for any person to hold, conceal,\n\ndestroy or take mail from the mailbox or premises of another person\n\nor from a delivery vehicle at any point throughout the delivery\n\nroute without the effective consent of the addressee and with the\n\nintent to deprive the addressee of the mail.\n\nC. Any person who violates the provisions of this section\n\nshall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by\n\nimprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed one (1)\n\nyear, or by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or\n\nby both such fine and imprisonment.\n\nD. When three or more separate offenses under this section are\n\ncommitted within a sixty-day period, the person shall be guilty of a\n\nfelony punishable by imprisonment in the custody of the Department\n\nof Corrections for a term of not less than two (2) years nor more\n\nthan five (5) years, or by a fine not to exceed Five Thousand\n\nDollars ($5,000.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.\n\nE.
