This act shall be known and may be cited as the \"Oklahoma\n\nSentencing Modernization Act of 2024\".\n\nB. There is hereby established a classification system for all\n\nfelony criminal offenses provided for in the Oklahoma Statutes that\n\nplaces the offenses into classes on the basis of the severity of the\n\noffense and other factors of the commission of the crime. All\n\nfelonies provided for by the Oklahoma Statutes shall be classified\n\nin the following manner:\n\n1. \"Class Y\" is reserved for the crime of murder in the first\n\ndegree as defined by Section 701.7 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes; and\n\n2. \"Class A1\", \"Class A2\", \"Class A3\", \"Class B1\", \"Class B2\",\n\n\"Class B3\", \"Class B4\", \"Class B5\", \"Class B6\", \"Class C1\", \"Class\n\nC2\", \"Class D1\", \"Class D2\", and \"Class D3\" are reserved for all\n\nother violent and nonviolent felony offenses.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ac59b4201d2519b40c081c7e350aa752df0176912653a967e8244ddd07017507","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-2002","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-20b"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
