Any person who shall contemptuously or maliciously tear\n\ndown, burn, trample upon, mutilate, deface, defile, defy, treat with\n\nindignity, wantonly destroy, or cast contempt, either by word or\n\nact, upon any flag, standard, colors or ensign of the United States\n\nof America shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a Class D3 felony\n\noffense and shall be punished by imprisonment as provided for in\n\nsubsections B through F of Section 20P of this title.\n\nB. The word \"defile\" as used in this section shall include\n\npublic conduct which brings shame or disgrace upon any flag of the\n\nUnited States by its use for unpatriotic or profane purpose.\n\nC.
