Stat. tit. 21, § 21-390","heading":"Misconduct by officer in charge of jury","body":"Every officer to whose charge any juror or jury is committed by\n\nany court or magistrate, who negligently or willfully permits them,\n\nor any one of them, either:\n\n1. To receive any communication from any person;\n\n2. To make any communication to any person;\n\n3. To obtain or receive any book or paper or refreshment; or\n\n4. To leave the jury room, the jury box, or his immediate\n\ncustody or control, without the leave of such court or magistrate\n\nfirst obtained, is guilty of a misdemeanor.\n\nEvery bailiff, or other officer or person, into whose custody\n\nand care any court of record contemplates committing any juror or\n\njury, before entering upon his duties as such for the court term or\n\nsuch lesser period of such service as the court may determine, shall\n\nfirst be admonished and shall make in writing and file with the\n\nclerk of such court a solemn oath, sworn to before the clerk or\n\njudge of such court, to the effect that he will regard the foregoing\n\nprovisions of this section and that he will faithfully prevent the\n\nsame and obstruct any attempt to accomplish or to attempt to do any\n\nof them, but at the same time to have regard to the comfort and\n\nwell-being of the jurors and all of them, entrusted into his care in\n\neach and every jury trial in any cause during such court term or\n\nlesser period of appointment by such court.\n\nIn every court the same admonition shall be given and the same\n\noath required as above, in each jury trial; but the court shall have\n\nthe option whether the same be oral, or in writing and filed in such\n\ncase, but thereafter during the trial of the same cause and until\n\nsuch jury is dismissed from further consideration of the same it\n\nshall not be necessary, for all intent and purposes of this act, to\n\nadminister again such admonition or to require such oath.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ed3ae04bde1891c54d28ca431835b932f6041a79e9b8dc04882246c8fe197556","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-389","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-399"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
