Stat. tit. 21, § 21-405","heading":"Appeals - Disposition of proceeds","body":"Appeals may be allowed as in civil cases, but the possession of\n\nmonies, funds, properties or assets being so unlawfully used shall\n\nbe prima facie evidence that it is the properties, funds, monies or\n\nassets of the person so using it. Where said monies, funds,\n\nproperties or assets are sold or otherwise ordered forfeited under\n\nthe provisions of this act the proceeds shall be disbursed and\n\napplied as follows:\n\nFirst. To the payment of the costs of the forfeiting\n\nproceedings and actual expenses of preserving the properties.\n\nSecond. One-eighth (1/8) of the proceeds remaining to the\n\npublic official, witness, juror or other person to whom the bribe\n\nwas given, provided such public official, witness, juror or other\n\nperson had theretofore voluntarily surrendered the same to the\n\nsheriff of the county and informed the proper officials of the\n\nbribery or attempted bribery.\n\nThird. One-eighth (1/8) to the district attorney prosecuting\n\nthe case.\n\nFourth.
