Stat. tit. 21, § 21-456","heading":"Bribing witness - Subornation of perjury","body":"Any person who gives or offers or promises to give to any\n\nwitness or person about to be called as a witness in any matter\n\nwhatever, including contests before United States land officers or\n\ntownsite commissioners, any bribe upon any understanding or\n\nagreement that the testimony of such witness shall be influenced, or\n\nwho attempts by any other means fraudulently to induce any witness\n\nto give false testimony shall be guilty of a Class D1 felony offense\n\nand shall be punished by imprisonment as provided for in subsections\n\nB through F of Section 20N of this title, but if the offer, promise,\n\nor bribe is in any way to induce the witness to swear falsely, then\n\nit shall be held to be subornation of perjury.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 2231.
