Any operator of a motor vehicle who has received a visual\n\nand audible signal, a red light and a siren from a peace officer\n\ndriving a motor vehicle showing the same to be an official police,\n\nsheriff, highway patrol or state game ranger vehicle directing the\n\noperator to bring the vehicle to a stop and who willfully increases\n\nthe speed or extinguishes the lights of the vehicle in an attempt to\n\nelude such peace officer, or willfully attempts in any other manner\n\nto elude the peace officer, or who does elude such peace officer, is\n\nguilty of a misdemeanor. The peace officer, while attempting to\n\nstop a violator of this section, may communicate a request for the\n\nassistance of other peace officers from any office, department or\n\nagency. Any peace officer within this state having knowledge of\n\nsuch request is authorized to render such assistance in stopping the\n\nviolator and may effect an arrest under this section upon probable\n\ncause. Violation of this subsection shall constitute a misdemeanor\n\nand shall be punishable by not more than one (1) year imprisonment\n\nin the county jail or by a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars\n\n($100.00) nor more than Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) or by both\n\nsuch fine and imprisonment. A second or subsequent violation of\n\nthis subsection shall be punishable by not more than one (1) year in\n\nthe county jail or by a fine of not less than Five Hundred Dollars\n\n($500.00) nor more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) or both\n\nsuch fine and imprisonment.\n\nB. Any person who violates the provisions of subsection A of\n\nthis section in such manner as to endanger any other person shall be\n\ndeemed guilty of a Class C1 felony offense punishable by\n\nimprisonment as provided for in subsections B through E of Section\n\n20L of this title, or by a fine of not less than One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00) nor more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00),\n\nor by both such fine and imprisonment.\n\nC. 1. Any person who causes an accident, while eluding or\n\nattempting to elude an officer, resulting in great bodily injury to\n\nany other person while driving or operating a motor vehicle within\n\nthis state and who is in violation of the provisions of subsection A\n\nof this section may be charged with a violation of the provisions of\n\nthis subsection. Any person who is convicted of a violation of the\n\nprovisions of this subsection shall be deemed guilty of a Class C1\n\nfelony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in\n\nsubsections B through E of Section 20L of this title, and a fine of\n\nnot more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00).\n\n2.
