Upon a conviction for any misdemeanor punishable by\n\nimprisonment in any jail, in relation to which no fine is prescribed\n\nby law, the court or a jury may impose a fine on the offender not\n\nexceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) in addition to the\n\nimprisonment prescribed.\n\nB. Upon a conviction for any felony punishable by imprisonment\n\nin any jail or prison, in relation to which no fine is prescribed by\n\nlaw, the court or a jury may impose a fine on the offender not\n\nexceeding Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) in addition to the\n\nimprisonment prescribed.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 2812.
