Stat. tit. 21, § 21-855","heading":"Employment of prisoners - Disposition of wages - Parole on","body":"bond - Revocation of parole - Suspension of sentence - Who may\n\ninform against violator.\n\nEvery person convicted under the provisions of this act, upon\n\nthe confinement of such person at the State Penitentiary, the warden\n\nthereof shall put the said convicted person to work at some suitable\n\nemployment in the State Penitentiary, at a reasonable wage, not to\n\nexceed Two Dollars and fifty cents ($2.50), per day, and under such\n\nrules and regulations as shall be fixed by the warden of said\n\npenitentiary with the approval of the Governor, and such earnings\n\nshall, by proper authority, be paid to the said wife, or other\n\nperson who is in charge of and caring for said child or children.\n\nUpon conviction of any person, under the provisions of this act,\n\nthe Governor may, before or after sentence, parole said person upon\n\nthe recommendation of the trial judge in whose court he was\n\nconvicted, upon said person entering into an undertaking in the form\n\nprovided by the judge of said court, with two or more good and\n\nsufficient sureties. Said sureties shall qualify and make a\n\nproperty statement as provided by law, and the said bond shall be\n\napproved by the trial judge before said application is made to the\n\nGovernor, and a certificate that said bond has been approved by the\n\ntrial judge shall accompany any application made hereunder. Said\n\nbond shall be conditioned that the said convicted person shall\n\nwithin ten (10) days from the first day of each month, pay to the\n\nclerk of the court where he was convicted such amount as has been\n\nfixed by the court for the support of said wife or child or\n\nchildren, which money shall be paid by the clerk of the court as\n\nprovided herein for wages at the penitentiary.\n\nUpon the failure to pay said amount within the time provided for\n\nunder this act, the said bond shall be liable to pay the sums due.\n\nSaid money, when paid into the court clerk, shall be paid by said\n\nclerk to the wife or to any other person in charge of said minor\n\nchild or children for the support of said wife or minor child or\n\nchildren.\n\nWhen the terms and conditions of said bond have been violated\n\nthe said trial judge shall at once notify the Governor, and the\n\nGovernor may at once revoke said parole and confine said person to\n\nthe penitentiary under the conditions provided herein, and the\n\nmakers of said bond shall be liable under the terms and conditions\n\nprovided in this act, and any person interested may sue on said\n\nbond.\n\nUpon recommendation as provided herein for parole, the Governor\n\nmay suspend the sentence under the terms and conditions of this act,\n\nand if the terms are broken and the suspension revoked by the\n\nGovernor, then the time such person is out on suspension of sentence\n\nshall not be deducted from the term of sentence.
