Stat. tit. 21, § 21-857","heading":"Definitions","body":"1. \"Every person,\" as used in Sections 856, Section 1 of this\n\nact, 857, 858.1 and 858.2 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nshall include human beings, without regard to their legal or natural\n\nrelationship to such minor, as well as legal or corporate entities.\n\n2. \"Minor\" or \"child,\" as used in Sections 856, Section 1 of\n\nthis act, 857, 858.1 and 858.2 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nshall include male or female persons who shall not have arrived at\n\nthe age of eighteen (18) years at the time of the commission of the\n\noffense.\n\n3. \"Encourage,\" as used in Sections 856, Section 1 of this act,\n\n857, 858.1 and 858.2 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes, in\n\naddition to the usual meaning of the word, shall include a willful\n\nand intentional neglect to do that which will directly tend to\n\nprevent such act or acts of delinquency on the part of such minor,\n\nwhen the person accused shall have been able to do so.\n\n4. \"Delinquent child,\" as used in Sections 856, 857, 858.1 and\n\n858.2 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall include a minor,\n\nas herein defined, who shall have been or is violating any penal\n\nstatute of this state, or who shall have been or is committing any\n\none or more of the following acts, to wit:\n\n(a) Associating with thieves, vicious or immoral persons.\n\n(b) Frequenting a house of ill repute.\n\n(c) Frequenting any policy shop, or place where any gambling\n\ndevice is operated.\n\n(d) Frequenting any saloon, dram shop, still, or any place\n\nwhere intoxicating liquors are manufactured, stored or sold.\n\n(e) Possession, carrying, owning or exposing any vile, obscene,\n\nindecent, immoral or lascivious photograph, drawing, picture, book,\n\npaper, pamphlet, image, device, instrument, figure or object.\n\n(f) Willfully, lewdly or lasciviously exposing his or her\n\nperson, or private parts thereof, in any place, public or private,\n\nin such manner as to be offensive to decency, or calculated to\n\nexcite vicious or lewd thoughts, or for the purpose of engaging in\n\nthe preparation or manufacture of obscene, indecent or lascivious\n\nphotographs, pictures, figures or objects.\n\n(g) Possessing, transporting, selling, or engaging or aiding or\n\nassisting in the sale, transportation or manufacture of intoxicating\n\nliquor, or the frequent use of same.\n\n(h) Being a runaway from his or her parent or legal guardian.\n\n(i) Violating any penal provision of the Uniform Controlled\n\nDangerous Substances Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ee17af984302981949f49ba1465352ee56f916fe102a229ae1ed095ea4166999","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-856.3v2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-858"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
