Stat. tit. 21, § 21-865","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act the terms hereinafter enumerated shall have\n\nthe following meanings:\n\n1. \"Advertising\" or \"Advertisement\" means any communication\n\nthat originates within this state by newspaper, periodical,\n\ntelephone book listing, outdoor advertising sign, radio, television\n\nor any communication that is disseminated through the use of a\n\ncomputer or related electronic device including, but not limited to,\n\nelectronic mail, websites, weblogs, search engines, banner messages,\n\npop-up messages, chat rooms, list servers, instant messaging or\n\nother Internet presences, and any attachments or links related\n\nthereto;\n\n2. \"Child\" means an unmarried or unemancipated person under the\n\nage of eighteen (18) years;\n\n3. \"Child-placing agency\" means any child welfare agency\n\nlicensed pursuant to the Oklahoma Child Care Facilities Licensing\n\nAct and authorized to place minors for adoption;\n\n4. \"Birth parent\" means a parent of a child being placed for\n\nadoption and includes, but is not limited to, a woman who is\n\npregnant or who presents herself as pregnant and who is offering to\n\nplace her child, born or unborn, for adoption;\n\n5. \"Person\" means any natural person, corporation, association,\n\norganization, institution or partnership;\n\n6. \"Department\" means the Department of Human Services; and\n\n7. \"Foster home\" means a home or other place, other than the\n\nhome of a parent, relative within the fourth degree or guardian of\n\nthe child concerned, wherein a child is received for permanent care,\n\ncustody, and maintenance.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e45d4e79aa1e787538465e9594deca1152036f6d43e7a24dda08af75e20beb31","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-861","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-866"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
