Stat. tit. 21, § 21-976","heading":"Failure of officers or prosecutor to perform duties under","body":"act - Removal - Punishment.\n\nAny sheriff, constable, policeman, or police officer or district\n\nattorney who shall fail to diligently do or perform the acts and\n\nduties required of him under this act, in that he shall knowingly\n\nallow the violation of this act or the open and notorious violation\n\nof same as set out in Section 12, shall be guilty of willful neglect\n\nof duty and shall be removed from office, as now or as may hereafter\n\nbe provided by law; and shall also be guilty of a misdemeanor and\n\nupon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than Two\n\nHundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) nor more than One Thousand Dollars\n\n($1,000.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not\n\nless than thirty (30) days nor more than one (1) year, or by both\n\nsuch fine and imprisonment; and any such officer, upon being\n\nconvicted or removed from office, shall be ineligible to again hold\n\npublic office for a period of two (2) years from the date of such\n\nconviction or removal from office.","path":["OK Code","Title 21"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os21.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fc53273a1eeb28fdf6b3a4f28d63d73ed83ab73287c7dfdb9c26b9f3fe66616d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-975","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-21-21-977"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
