Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1092","heading":"Legislative findings, declarations, and intent","body":"It is hereby found and declared that:\n\n1. The Interstate Compact for the Supervision of Parolees and\n\nProbationers, established in 1937, was the earliest corrections\n\ncompact established among the states and has not been amended since\n\nits adoption over sixty-two (62) years ago;\n\n2. The Interstate Compact for the Supervision of Parolees and\n\nProbationers is the only vehicle for the controlled movement of\n\nadult parolees and probationers across state lines, and it provides\n\njurisdiction over more than a quarter of a million offenders;\n\n3. The complexities of this compact have become more difficult\n\nto administer, and many jurisdictions have expanded supervision\n\nexpectations to include unregulated practices such as victim input,\n\nvictim notification requirements and sex offender registration;\n\n4. After hearings, national surveys, and a detailed study by a\n\ntask force appointed by the National Institute of Corrections, the\n\noverwhelming recommendation has been to enact a new compact to bring\n\nabout an effective management capacity that addresses public safety\n\nconcerns and offender accountability; and\n\n5. Upon the adoption of the Interstate Compact for Adult\n\nOffender Supervision, it is the intention of the legislature to\n\nrepeal the Uniform Act for Out-of-State Parolee Supervision,\n\nSections 347, et seq. of Title 57 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"36da962a17f567800627d23f957f4a611f5d2112e2f651fd1c17e11dc3d0e6de","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1091","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1093"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
