Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1141.25","heading":"Waiver of proceedings and consent to return to","body":"demanding state.\n\nAny person arrested in this state charged with having committed\n\nany crime in another state or alleged to have escaped from\n\nconfinement, or broken the terms of his bail, probation or parole\n\nmay waive the issuance and service the warrant provided for in\n\nSection 7 and 8 and all other procedure incidental to extradition\n\nproceedings, by executing or subscribing in the presence of a judge\n\nof any court of record within this state a writing which states that\n\nhe consents to return to the demanding state; provided, however,\n\nthat before such waiver shall be executed or subscribed by such\n\nperson it shall be the duty of such judge to inform such person of\n\nhis rights to the issuance and service of a warrant of extradition\n\nand to obtain a writ of habeas corpus as provided for in Section 10.\n\nIf and when such consent has been duly executed it shall forthwith\n\nbe forwarded to the office of the Governor of this state and filed\n\ntherein. The judge shall direct the officer having such person in\n\ncustody to deliver forthwith such person to the duly accredited\n\nagent or agents of the demanding state, and shall deliver or cause\n\nto be delivered to such agent or agents a copy of such consent;\n\nprovided, however, that nothing in this section shall be deemed to\n\nlimit the rights of the accused person to return voluntarily and\n\nwithout formality to the demanding state, nor shall this waiver\n\nprocedure be deemed to be an exclusive procedure or to limit the\n\npowers, rights or duties of the officers of the demanding state or\n\nof this state.","path":["OK Code","Title 22"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os22.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c26d3af54dd3d0d9d5f4544ef83e95c2c935429f6c7289aac0f9f3fe856ae62e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1141.24","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-22-22-1141.26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
