Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1176","heading":"Raising issue of mental illness or insanity at time of","body":"offense.\n\nA. If the defendant intends to raise the question of mental\n\nillness or insanity at the time of the offense, the defendant shall\n\nfile notice with the court no later than thirty (30) days after\n\nformal arraignment. Additionally, if the defendant is financially\n\nunable to obtain the services of a qualified mental health\n\nprofessional, the defendant shall file an application with the court\n\nat the time of the filing of notice of insanity defense. The\n\nprocedure to be followed for review of such an application will be\n\nthe same as provided in Section 1175.3 of this title.\n\nB. In cases not involving the appointment of the Oklahoma\n\nIndigent Defense System pursuant to Sections 1355 through 1370.1 of\n\nthis title, if the court finds that the defendant's sanity at the\n\ntime of the offense is to be a significant factor in his defense at\n\ntrial and that the defendant is financially unable to obtain the\n\nservices of a qualified mental health professional, the court shall\n\nprovide the defendant with access to a qualified mental health\n\nprofessional by authorizing counsel to obtain the services of a\n\nqualified mental health professional to conduct an appropriate\n\nexamination and assist in evaluation, preparation and presentation\n\nof the defense. Compensation for such services shall be paid by the\n\ncourt fund, as authorized by Section 1304 of Title 20 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes.\n\nC.
