Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1181","heading":"Causes for removal of officers","body":"Any officer not subject to impeachment elected or appointed to\n\nany state, county, township, city, town or other office under the\n\nlaws of the state may, in addition to any other methods and causes\n\nprovided by law, be removed from office for any of the following\n\ncauses:\n\nFirst. Habitual or willful neglect of duty which, for a state\n\nofficer, shall include, but not be limited to, knowingly giving\n\nfalse testimony to a committee of either house of the Legislature,\n\nknowingly engaging in operations beyond the constitutional or\n\nstatutory authority delegated to the agency that the officer is\n\nemployed by or serves, or repeatedly refusing to provide information\n\nto a committee, either house or a member of the Legislature in a\n\ntimely manner. For the purposes of this section, “timely manner”\n\nmeans no more than fifteen (15) business days from the date the\n\nrequest for information was received by the agency, unless extended\n\nby written agreement.\n\nSecond. Gross partiality in office.\n\nThird. Oppression in office.\n\nFourth. Corruption in office, which shall include the use of\n\npublic office or authority to procure or attempt to procure a\n\npersonal benefit, profit, or perquisite.\n\nFifth. Extortion or willful overcharge of fees in office.\n\nSixth. Willful maladministration.\n\nSeventh. Habitual drunkenness.\n\nEighth.
