Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1228","heading":"Execution of search warrant without warning or notice –","body":"Forced entry – Exigent circumstances.\n\nA peace officer may break open an outer or inner door or window\n\nof a house, or any part of the house, or anything therein, to\n\nexecute the warrant when:\n\n1. The officer has been refused admittance after having first\n\ngiven notice of his authority and purpose; or\n\n2. Pursuant to an instruction inserted in the search warrant by\n\nthe magistrate that no warning or other notice of entry is necessary\n\nbecause there is reasonable cause to believe that exigent\n\ncircumstances exist.
