Stat. tit. 22, § 22-1322","heading":"Stolen property - Magistrate to order delivery, when","body":"On satisfactory proof of title to the property, the magistrate\n\nbefore whom the information is laid, or who examines the charge\n\nagainst the person accused of stealing or embezzling the property,\n\nmay order it to be delivered to the owner on his or her paying the\n\nreasonable and necessary expenses incurred in its preservation, to\n\nbe certified by the magistrate. The order entitles the owner to\n\ndemand and receive the property. Such property shall be made\n\navailable to the owner within twenty (20) days of the issuance of\n\nthe order.
